Impact Areas
Our Programs
Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment

Our sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment program equip pastoralists communities with the tools and opportunities to transition from aid dependency to economic self-reliance. By enhancing livestock productivity, providing market access, and fostering entrepreneurship, we ensure pastoralists thrive in a sustainable and resilient future.
Climate Resilience and Adaptation

The program equips pastoralists with skills to navigate the uncertainties of climate change. From water conservation to sustainable grazing, we ensure communities not only survive but thrive in a challenging environment. With a focus on infrastructure investments, we collaborate with the private sector specialized in water technologies, renewable energy, and irrigation systems to provide necessary technology and markets for the products.
Education and Skills Development

Our education and skills development programs address the unique challenges pastoralists communities face in accessing education. From school infrastructure, vocational training, and scholarships, we empower learners and individuals with skills and infrastructure they need to thrive.
Healthcare Access and Nutrition

We work with farmers to grow groundnuts, a key ingredient for plumpy nut—a ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUFT) and a ready-to-use supplementary food (RUSF) for management of severe acute malnutrition and moderate acute malnutrition in children. PAIR will be supporting farmers with high-quality seeds, tools, and trainings and support partnering with food processing companies to produce plumpy nut locally.
Social Cohesion and Conflict Management

The program addresses resource-based conflicts and fosters unity among pastoral communities. By facilitating dialogue, training leaders, and creating shared resource management frameworks, we build the foundation for peace and resilience by encouraging private entities to invest in community peace-building initiatives as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) and partnering with NGOs to resolve community resource conflicts.
Technology and Innovation for Resilience

Our technology and innovation for resilience program brings modern solutions to pastoralist communities, transforming traditional practices and creating new opportunities for growth, efficiency, and sustainability. Using digital platforms for market access, PAIR will connect pastoralists to buyers and markets through mobile apps, enabling them to sell livestock and products at fair prices.
Natural Resource Management and Environmental Conservation

PAIR has equipped pastoralist communities with the tools and knowledge to manage shared resources sustainably. We focus on preserving rangelands, protecting water sources, and fostering biodiversity, and we ensure supported communities thrive in harmony with the environment. We collaborate with tourism firms to promote environmental conservation and create income for the communities.
